Dear Impish one,
You are the reason for this newsletter. I'm dedicated to
supporting the "imp" in you - especially this month your
Intuition and Mental Powers.
You're receiving this newsletter because you subscribed to it,
you're a member of "The Imp Community" online, or a friend
passed it on. Sign up or unsubscribe at the end.

1. Feature Article: Chronologically Enhanced
I heard a speaker used the term 'chronologically enhanced' and
immediately loved the expression. You've probably heard, "I'm
not getting older, I'm getting better." Indigenous cultures have
wise elders but in our culture that is not a predominant role.
"Okay", says The Imp, jumping into this conversation, "What
immediately comes to mind for you when you hear the words
'70-year-old'? What do you think the typical day of a 70-year-old
is like?". Perhaps you're thinking of your grandmother busy taking
care of grandchildren (and loving it) or an uncle who has just
moved to a seniors care residence.
Yes, we each turn a year older annually but what is 'aging'?
A few years ago I gave a ride home to a woman I barely knew who
called herself a Spiritual Coach or some such term. She commented
that I had light (not heavy) energy and said, "Yoryunging".
What? I didn't understand what she said. She repeated, "You're
younging rather than aging." More recently I had someone
calculate my biological age and it was 16 years younger than my
chronological age.
So why am I telling you this?
Because of your power to make choices!
Do you believe things just happen to you or do you know that you
have a lot of control over the life you live?
You may know someone who at 90 is active and young at heart. And
someone else who is 50 and very ill. Why such a difference? If you
think it's because of heredity you can't (and won't) do anything
about it!
It depends on living in conscious awareness or, by default,
letting subconscious (and usually limiting) beliefs dictate your
destiny plus making unhealthy choices influenced by our culture.
If you know me, you know I value Health. That affects the choices
I make. If you want to enjoy better health I recommend the book
"Conscious Health: Choosing Natural Solutions for
Optimum
Health and Lifelong Vitality" by Ron
Garner. The best book I've
ever found for understanding how to maintain health and realizing how disease is
created.
Take the Wellness Quiz at
http://www.consciousplanet.net/theImpLady
I use their wonderful hemp products.
Anthony Robbins once said, "Nothing tastes as good as being healthy
feels!"
In 1993 (the year it was published) I bought Deepak Chopra's book
"Ageless Body, Timeless Mind: the Quantum Alternative
to
Growing Old". If you dread growing old, read it!
Fear death?
I recommend "Divinely Blessed: A Journey of Light"
by Lisa Reed. It is just being released. Look for another email
from The Imp with a special introductory offer for Lisa's book.
I feel like I'm part of a worldwide spiritual re-awakening. See
the Feature Article in the April 2008 issue:

Lisa Reed's book contributes to re-awakening us to Spirit.

I found a saying that I printed out and have up on my wall.
"For all those years you've protected the seed, its time to become
the beautiful flower" by Stephen C. Paul.
The Imp jumps in here again, "Oh, Bev, you're such a late-bloomer!"
As a lifelong enthusiastic Learner, I'm "enhanced" with tremendous
knowledge, skills and experience that a younger person has not had
time to absorb.
I'm always exploring new things. Two websites I recently discovered
and invite you to check out are
http://www.the9intenseexperiences.com (live more joyfully)
http://thepowertoachieve.com (explore
a new level of consciousness)
I love life! There are so many exciting things happening. Humanity
is poised for a quantum leap on an evolutionary scale and I'm
actively a part of it! (And of course you can be too.)
Chronologically enhanced? Yes! And I'm delighted to share with you
that I'm excited and proud to be celebrating my 70th birthday on
December 2nd!

2.Q&A: What Can I Do To Give Myself The Sense of Being Cared For?
Since there's presently no clear cut alternative to replace this
Q&A part of IMPressions, I've decided to include a Q&A that was
originally in issue #22 (December 2004). This time you will have
more time to act on suggestions if you identify with Gail's
situation. With advance planning, feel very pampered, loved and
cared for during the upcoming holiday season.
Gail wrote: "It came to me in a flash of insight that one of
the things that is missing in my life is that comforting sense
of being taken care of. Like most adult women, I've spent most
of my life taking care of other people. Now I realize that the
only times I can remember being cared for are the times I was in
the hospital for one reason or another. What a sad commentary.
"What can I do to give myself the sense of being cared for? Can't
afford a cruise or even a day at the spa, but I do have 3 days
off coming up at Christmas and would love to give myself the gift
of being cared for and pampered for at least one of those days."
Dear Gail,
Many readers, I'm sure, identify with you! Some suggestions:
1. Let family and friends know that pampering gifts would be
appreciated - perhaps a gift certificate for foot massage and
pedicure or for a few hours at a spa.
2. Spend time soaking in an aromatherapy bath, by candle light,
with soft music playing. Visualize something special and make it
as real as possible. Use body lotion afterwards. Lovingly and
consciously smooth it over your body enjoying the sensuousness.
3. Do you like to read? Spend a day curled up with a book, per-
haps a romance novel or humourous adventure story - whatever
appeals to you. Have a bowl of luscious grapes to snack on...
4. Find a pampering buddy and give each other manicures, pedi-
cures, shoulder and foot massages. (If you colour your hair, a
hair-colouring buddy is nice. Easier than doing your own and a
time to chat. Make it a monthly get-together.)
Dear Reader, what do you do for self-nurturing? Your ideas are
welcomed! Send them to me
with "pampering
for the caregiver" in the subject line.
Worthy of mention is the Campbell River Women's Centre which
organized a pampering day in November 2004 for low income women.
Volunteer professionals provided haircuts, manicures, massages,
etc.
What challenges are you facing on your journey to greater self-
empowerment? Feel free to still send me questions.

3. News, Comments, Success Stories, Winners
Books. I love books. I mention a lof of books most months. And
there are favourite books of mine listed on the Introducing
My
Picks page at
http://www.TheImpLady.com
Avoid a lot of stress this holiday season and, from the ease and
comfort of your own home, order books (and many other items) from
Amazon. Here's The Imp's quick link:

Imp Community member Debbie Thomas is having a special Christmas
offer on her AttitudeZaps CD - that's her affirmations set to
catchy tunes. I love them and they'll make great stocking stuffers.
The site may not be quite ready yet but I did want to mention it
in this newsletter so check it out on November 20. "Put it on your
'to do' list for Thursday," encourages The Imp.

Another of our members, Sandy Slovack, facilitates the teleclass
"Dramatically Improve Your Self-Esteem". I heard from Cathy Demers
who hosts the calls, that the last one was a remarkable success!
Almost 100% of the students rated Sandy's workshop a 5 out of 5!
Congratulations, Sandy! The next one will be in January. For Early
Birds there is a registration discount now in effect AND Sandy
has generously added a coaching bonus for the first 20 people who
register. When those 20 spots are gone – they're gone.
"So," says The Imp,"Act now and start the new year being good to
yourself!"

Magnificent Part of you yearning to express?
This is one way to
put it out to the Universe. E-mail
with "Member Profile" in the subject line.

4. Inspirational Message to Ponder
"We do not cease to play because we grow old, we grow old
because we cease to play." George Bernard Shaw
The Imp encourages you to write the quote on a card, read it
regularly, and then journal about your thoughts, insights,
feelings and, especially, actions.
