============================================================

1. Feature Article: A Product of Your Environment or Its Creator?

You've heard it before, "You're a product of your environment".
Are you ready to put that into the past tense? The environment
you grew up in, and are currently living in, may not be conducive
to the way you want to live. Is it time to create environments
(your life!) the way you want it?

To increase your wellbeing, let's explore nine environments.
For each environment ask yourself these questions:
"Right now, is this environment inspiring me? Supporting me?"
"Or is it limiting me in some way?"
"What am I putting up with that is draining me?"

1. The most IMPortant environment is ‘memetic’ - the sea of
information, ideas and concepts that surround you. It influences
all the others. Your past and current memetic environment are
influenced by family, school, TV, friends and beliefs handed
down through the generations.

Do you immerse yourself in resources that empower you? Do you read
inspiring books? Or do you choose to watch violence on TV?

"The Imp" is eager to let you know that "The Imp Journal" is more
than just a book! It's a lifelong guide, an online community and
a ‘sea’ of wonderful ideas and concepts.
http://www.theimpjournal.com/order-journal.htm

Two other books for your memetic environment:
The Success Principles by Jack Canfield
Harmonic Wealth: The Secrets of Attracting the Life You Want
by James Arthur Ray.

2. Your physical environment: Your home, garden, place of work,
vehicle, etc. Are they pleasing places? Two resources:
"Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life: How to Use Feng Shui to Get
Love, Money, Respect and Happiness"
by Karen Rauch-Carter.
and http://www.ClearOutClutter.com

3. Your body: how you relate to it and meet its needs. Issues like
controlling weight, exercising, food choices.
"Conscious Health" by Ron Garner. Best book I’ve ever read to
understand what creates health and how to prevent illness.
"When the Body Says No: The Cost of Hidden Stress"
by Gabor Mate, M.D.

4. Self: Your sense of self-worth, your self-esteem, feelings,
emotional makeup, values and how you think others perceive you.
"The Self-Esteem Companion" by Patrick Fanning et al.

5. Spiritual: How you feel connected to God, Source, the Universe.
"One Day My Soul Just Opened Up" by Iyanla Vanzant
"Handbook to Higher Consciousness" by Kenneth Keyes
"You Can Have It All" by Arnold Patent
"Ask and It Is Given" by Esther and Jerry Hicks
"Finding Yourself in Transition: Using Life's Changes for Spiritual
Awakening"
by Robert Brumet

When I 'crashed and burned' in 1993, my sister Gwen said," Bev, what
you are experiencing is a spiritual crisis." She was right. Out of
that experience I created the program "Starting Life Over".
http://www.StartingLifeOver.com

6. Close Relationships:  Family and friends.
"The Five Love Languages" by Gary Chapman
"Because I Love You: How the Way We Talk Can Make or Break Family
Relationships Throughout Our Lives"
by Deborah Tannen.
"Toxic Parents: Overcoming Their Hurtful Legacy and Reclaiming Your
Life"
by Susan Forward
"Emotional Blackmail: When the People in Your Life Use Fear,
Obligation, and Guilt to Manipulate You"

by Susan Forward and Donna Frazier.
"Parenting from the Inside Out" by Daniel J. Siegel

7. Network: All the other people you know.
Do you live with a bright, but frustrated teen who is bored at
school? Suggest "The Teenage Liberation Handbook: How to quit
school and get a real life and education"
by Grace Llewellyn.
School is sometimes a stifling environment.
"Persuasion: The Art of Getting What You Want" by Dave Lakhani

8. Nature: We're affected at a cellular level by the natural world.
A client discussed how much she misses the energizing effect of
the ocean now that she's in Ontario. Do you spend too much time
indoors? After a walk, you'll feel more refreshed, with a brighter,
more positive attitude.

Children of today spend far fewer hours outdoors than children of
earlier generations. The consequences of that are discussed in
"Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children From Nature Deficit
Disorder"
by Richard Louv.

9. Financial: How you think about, feel about and manage money.
"Your Money or Your Life: Transforming Your Relationship With
Money and Achieving Financial Independence"

by Joe Dominguez and Vicki Robin;
"The Energy of Money" by Maria Nemeth, Ph.D.
"Your Money Blueprint" Part 1 in T. Harv Eker's book "Secrets of
the Millionaire Mind"
is an eye-opener. You ARE a 'product' of
your money environment at a subconscious level until you re-
program your money blueprint.

Part 3 of my 7-week Starting Life Over e-coaching program is a
comprehensive look at your money environment. I'm offering Part 3
by itself (PDF file) for just $16.95US
http://www.theimpjournal.com/aboutmoney

As well as answering the questions at the beginning of this article,
map out your current environments in this way:
Draw a circle with your name in the middle. Draw another circle
around ‘you’ for the MEMETIC environment. Around the memetic
environment draw a larger circle divided into eight sections for
the remaining environments.

Use words and symbols on your map to describe your life as it is
right now.

Draw the diagram again and this time map out what you WANT to have
your life look like. INTEND to create it!

The concept of the 9 environments comes from Coachville - the
largest online site for Coaches.

2. Coaching Q&A: A Survey to Serve, Eh?

This month is not the usual Q&A. As you read, I'd appreciate you
thinking about the feedback you'll provide. As my spiritual path
takes me into new territory, this newsletter will reflect those
changes AND I want this newsletter to speak to YOU at a deep
heartfelt level.

In the very first issue I stated: I'm dedicated to supporting
the IMP in you - your Incredible Magnificent Potential yearning
to be expressed; the Intuitive, Magical, Passionate person you
truly are.

What kinds of challenges and obstacles face you getting to
be the person you are meant to be? The Imp Community will
evolve from the needs, desires, interests and input of its
members. So how may I support you?

I'm very blessed at this point in my life to have so much
and I'm eager to give it away. I have a wealth of resources,
love and encouragement to share with you. There isn't much
point, though, in my guessing what you want. So I ask you,
how can I support you? What do you want?
http://www.theimpjournal.com/archives/issue1.htm

Last February in my article "Come Hell or High Water" I
realized that the reason I didn't set goals for 2008 was
because none of the should-type goals were compelling.
Instead I recognized the need for 2008 to be a year for spiritual
growth. http://www.theimpjournal.com/archives/issue-59.htm

In March I enrolled for a course that started in May - Advanced
Spiritual Business Building. (I'm learning powerful energy
management tools - the inner changes - before addressing the outer
skills and strategies used for conducting business as a way of
serving not selling.) Before the course even started I heard about
"Humanity Unites Brilliance" (HUB) a new humanitarian organization
which I wrote about in the May issue.
http://www.theimpjournal.com/archives/issue-62.htm

So what is this all leading up to?

I've loved coaching people one-to-one. My heart is now leading me
to focus on humanitarian aid and work through HUB. I've made a
choice. I will not continue to coach one-to-one at the present time.
(I see coaching as a set of skills to use in many settings.)

Next month there will not be a Q&A in the newsletter.

What would you like to have here to replace the Coaching Q&A?
I'd like to replace it with something IMPortant to you.

To thank you for taking the time to share suggestions I will send
a wee impish gift. Email me
with "Survey Serve Eh" in the subject line.

"Awakening Your Brilliance" is a HUB event I'll be attending
in Calgary, Alberta September 26 to 28. Check out details at
http://theimplady.hubhub.org  and if it calls to you, let me know
asap and I'll arrange to get you a complimentary Guest Pass.

3. News, Comments, Success Stories, Winners

Introducing Debbie Thomas - Member Profile:
Debbie is in her 50s and mother of 4. Until a few years ago, she
lived life on the practical side - college, engineering degree,
work at NASA. Two years ago she was 'brought to her knees'
emotionally, spiritually and physically. Things had to change.
But how?

During this crisis, Debbie started singing a little song to
herself in the form of a jingle that stuck in her head and kept
repeating. This first jingle (and the ones that followed) totally
turned her life around - from one of fear, doubt, worry and lack
to a positive, creative. grateful life. She discovered her passion
for helping others.

'Attitude Zapz!' were born! Affirmation Jingles - short catchy
tunes with affirmations as lyrics.

The Imp is buttin' in here hardly able to contain himself! "Ever
get a tune stuck in your head?" he chimes in. "Takes over on
auto-pilot doesn't it? Imagine the good of unconsciously
singing affirmations all day long!"

Debbie also adds what is IMPortant to her: her family, her God,
her doggies, health, spirituality and helping others find their
way. Other interests include horses, gardening, the environment
and singing. One desire of Debbie's is to make the world a better
place for our children's, children's children.

Note from Bev: I discovered Attitude Zapz and love them! I wanted
to get to know Debbie. We've exchanged a number of emails and
chatted on the phone. She joined our Imp Community in late August.

Attitude Zapz are a simple tool that easily lightens your mood,
keeps you focused on goals, boosts your self-esteem and speeds
your journey to the life you desire.

"Wanna check them out?" queries The Imp. Go to:
http://www.TheImpLady.com/AttitudeZapz

You're Invited to submit your Member Profile. What is IMPortant
to you? Your Interests? Motivation? Passion? What is an Inner
Magnificent Part of you yearning to express? This is one way to
put it out to the Universe. E-mail
with "Member Profile" in the subject line.

Affirmations are a great tool for creating change. So are
visualizations. Some people say they can't visualize.
There's a great way to get visualizations out of your head and
in front of your eyes. Find out how at

Debbie Thomas set one of her jingles to a mind movie.

http://www.theimpjournal.com/order-journal.htm

One of my classmates in the Advanced Spiritual Business Building
course shared the following with the group:
Soon after joining this group Bev sent me a lovely e-mail and at
the bottom was a link to http://www.theimpjournal.com I ordered
two copies of her journaling book. Yesterday they arrived.

Two weeks ago, early one morning, I was in tears, thinking about my
daughter's exclusion from society as she is epileptic- I asked for
inner guidance to connect to the source of helping my daughter
find friends easily and have an easier flow in her life.

I gave my daughter the journal last night. When she came downstairs
in tears asking "How will I ever have real friends?" I randomly
opened The Imp Journal and discovered the insight I have been
looking for, a chapter on "take the Initiative Meeting People".
This morning Anna went to school with the widest smile on her face.
She is looking forward to meeting new friends at school and to
sharing her beautiful smile with at least 10 people today!

The greatest lesson for me is to KNOW. To Know that there's always
joy, love and peace around- sometimes it's simply a matter of doing
something different after allowing inner calmness and stillness.
The second important lesson is to spread the word about the goodness
in others and to lift them up. Bev you're truly our fairy godmother.
With love, "TLC" (Yes, those really are her initials!)
Thanks for letting us share it in this newsletter, "T".

4. Inspirational Message to Ponder

"The human mind, once stretched by a new idea, never returns
to its original dimensions." Oliver Wendall Holmes

The Imp encourages you to write the quote on a card, read it
regularly, and then journal about your thoughts, insights,
feelings and, especially, actions.
