1. Feature Article: Goin' On a Rampage
What comes to mind for you about the word 'rampage'? My
dictionary
definition is, "to rush violently or wildly about; rage; an out-
break of violent, raging behavior."
"Oops!" gulps The Imp, "That's not what this is about at all."
The Imp has me goin' on a rampage of ... appreciation!
And where did he get the idea? From the book
"Ask and It
Is Given:
Learning to Manifest Your Desires" by Esther and Jerry
Hicks (The
Teachings of Abraham).
So I've been rampaging this week and it's fun!
"Wanna play, too?" asks The Imp. He hears an enthusiastic
"Yes!"
from you doesn't he?
Take a moment right now to stop reading and look around you.
Notice something that pleases you. Hold your attention on this
pleasing item as you appreciate how useful, beautiful and
wonderful it is.
"Okay, you just did that, didn't you," queries The Imp. "How
did
it make you feel?" Better? Appreciate feeling better!
I just glanced up from my computer to do this myself and my
eyes
focussed on one of a number of inspiring quotes I have printed
out and tacked to the wall:
"One way to defeat invisible, limiting beliefs, Bev, even
ones you
may not know you have, is to simply dream of a life so grand,
that
they couldn't possibly make sense. And then start living that
life,
today, however humbly at first. En garde, The Universe".
I appreciate Mike Dooley (a.k.a. The Universe), who wrote it;
I
appreciate the reminder; I appreciate feeling inspired every
time
I look at it; I appreciate everything that went into me being
able
to type it up and print it out! (That would be a lo-o-ng
list...)
You get the idea.
This Rampage of Appreciation game can be played anywhere,
anytime.
Writing your thoughts down enhances the experience but isn't
necessary.
A great time to play this game is when you are driving,
walking or
waiting in line. (When you get to the head of the line let the
teller, checkout clerk or whomever, know that you appreciate him
or her!)
Another time to use it is when you realize you are
experiencing
mild negative emotion - a quick way to change the way you feel.
If you haven't guessed by now, it's all about using The Law
of
Attraction. Benefits of "rampaging" like this include making
your
connection to your own Source Energy stronger. You are
practicing
a vibration of less resistance. The less resistance you have, the
better your life will be.
The Imp and I invite you to choose one day this week to make
your
primary intention one of playing the "Rampage of Appreciation"
game. Pick objects that evoke appreciation. Esther and Jerry
caution this is not a time to focus on something troubling and
be trying to fix it. In fact, its a great way of taking your
focus off something troubling and changing your vibration to a
more positive one. Expect to receive clearer guidance from your
Inner Being.
I've read a number of books on the Law of Attraction and
consider
"Ask and It Is Given" as one of the best. It includes
practical
and fun ways of achieving higher vibrations and thus attracting
better things into your life.
"Wanna get it right now?" interjects The Imp, "You can go
directly
to Amazon with Bev's quick-link."

2. Coaching Q&A: I keep 'Shoulding' on Myself - What Should I Do?
Annie G. asked that question. "Gee, Annie," pipes up The Imp,
"I'll tell Bev no 'shoulds' in her answer!"
First of all, Annie, good for you to recognize 'shoulds'!
Usually
one feels a reluctance, a resistance and is 'dragging one's
feet'.
As Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer say in their book "Creating Money: Keys to Abundance":
"If you are forcing yourself to do things according to a list
of
'shoulds', you are not listening to the deeper part of your
being.
Your soul rarely says, you must do this; you should do that."
Your
soul says, "Isn't this delightful? Doesn't this bring you great
joy? Wouldn't you love to do more of it?"
One way to address this is to start with writing down all
your
current 'shoulds' that you can think of. Then focus on one
'should'
at a time, and ask some questions:
Is this 'should' self imposed or someone else's expectation
of me?
If self-imposed, can you give yourself permission to drop it?
If it is an expectation of someone else, would you like to learn
to
say NO?
(send me an email with "Saying No" in the subject line and I'll
send a Word document "20 Ways to Tell Someone No".
Annie, you mentioned being in a tailspin trying to listen to
others. Sounds like the still, small voice within is getting
drowned out!
Your primary relationship is with yourself. Are you ready to
treat yourself as your best friend - with respect for your inner
desires? Consider being gentle with yourself and assertive with
others. "Coping Through Assertiveness" by Rhoda
McFarland is an
'oldy' but I just checked Amazon and they have a few. The book
was
written for teens but is valuable at any age.
What are the consequences of dropping each 'should'? What do you
have to GAIN by dropping it?
How would it feel to set aside the 'shoulds' for a period of
time and ask yourself, "What would I really, really LIKE to do?"
What is stopping me? What would be joyful?
Give yourself permission to play, relax, enjoy and feel
passion
for something.
As a Coach, it's not my job to tell you What you should
do.
The answer needs to come from deep inside you. What I can do is
support you in clarifying issues and values, exploring options,
setting priorities, providing accountability, enabling you to
get
past fears, providing a fresh perspective and pointing you
toward
resources.
What challenges are you facing on your journey to greater
self-
empowerment? When your question is answered in this column,
you'll
receive a complimentary 40-minute coaching session by phone or
a set of whimsical imp notecards.
Client names are changed to protect identity and maintain
confidentiality. Go ahead! E-mail me your question:
with
"Coaching Question" in the subject line.
Your question will be answered promptly.
No waiting until the next newsletter.

Magic and Passion? To find

There are 3 ways to win a wee Imp "dreams to reality" pillow
including a "Law of Attraction" booklet to guide its use.
1. Request game cards and mark your location on The Imp's
guest
map. It's fun! There's only one rule to this game - don't get
caught doing it!
http://www.theimpjournal.com/where-in-world.htm
(These game cards are fun to include in a geocache. I was out
for a walk Tuesday evening and stopped to talk to a young man
with
a Global Positioning Device (GPS). He showed me his cache nearby
and I'm welcome to return and place an Imp game card in it.)
Oh! Back to the next way to win...
2. During the first 3 months as a new subscriber.
3. When you purchase The Imp Journal: Guided Journal
Writing for
Personal Empowerment, Vol.1

beautiful music. When you contact me, Tony, if you wish, write a
short blurb I can share with other readers who may wish to enjoy
