1. Feature Article: Heartfulness
Valentine’s Day. Come and gone. What was it honestly like for you?
The word "mindfulness" means "having in mind, awareness". I’ve
coined "heartfulness" - "experiencing awareness in your heart".
I love finding new empowering resources to share with you! Last
November I attended a two hour teleclass on the Mind-Heart
Integration Training System created by Susan M. Castle. Susan
describes herself as a "Radiant Heart Therapist".
Susan’s programs are designed to help you overcome problems, heart-
aches and struggle by using "heartfulness".
Do you find your mind is over-active thinking about what you don’t
like about your life? In past issues, I’ve talked about The Law of
Attraction. You may have been consciously trying to apply Law of
Attraction principles. Does what you want continue to elude you?
Painful early experiences result in you building a protective
barrier around your heart. You don’t want to experience any more
pain. ("Interesting," says The Imp, "that another word for "pain"
is "heart-ache".)
Susan Castle says, "This may seem like you are preventing yourself
from feeling pain or being hurt, but what you are really feeling
is deeper pain from not allowing love into your Heart. Especially
your own love."
You’ve probably heard the saying, "Feelings buried alive never die".
Buried feeling lead to what Susan calls "The Silenced Heart".
One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself is to learn to
gently release the heart-ache, to let your heart "soften" and let
in more Love.
So how do you do that? Here are a few things I learned from Susan.
You may wish to do some journal writing after these experiences.
1. The wisdom of the heart is heard when the mind is quiet. Put
your hand to your heart and ask, "What does my heart long for?"
Listen. Stay in present moment awareness.
2. Do you find it easier to give or receive? Which are you more
comfortable with? How does that awareness help you?
3. Send out the intent to dissolve the armor you put up.
4. Take a stretch break - open your arms back, chest open - it
opens your Heart Chakra.
5. If you’ve ever been a child, you have limiting beliefs - perhaps
about whether you deserve love or whether the world is a safe
place - from experiences under the age of 7. Find a picture of
yourself aged 7 or younger. Like a small child you find lost in the
grocery store, follow the urge give him or her a hug! Imagine
inside you your wise little child, your free spirit. So much is
hidden in your unconscious. Get in touch with your inner child.
Whenever you are sad, upset, empty, angry... reconnect with that
that child into the loving space of your heart. Ask him or her what
they are feeling. Take that little child with you into everything.
6. Make a commitment to nurture yourself. Set the intent to have
time with your inner child. One thing each day that brings you joy.
Five minutes is fine. Perhaps listening to music that stirs your
soul.
Susan Castle is also the Founder of "The Essence Method." A program
for loving yourself and experiencing profound peace.

2. Coaching Q&A: I Dare You!
This email was sent to me from a viewer at my website:
http://www.StartingLifeOver.com
Dear Bev,
If I could afford you, I probably wouldn't need you. Let's get real
and honest here. I'm not stupid, just emotional due to ALL the crap
I’ve endured through the years. Believe me, Just a divorce and
being alone in the woods in the middle of winter on generator
power, like I am would be easy, but why don't YOU stretch your
little self and do a Pro-Bono. Please, I have a lot to give, but
I'm not into YOU making the Bucks to get it. I’m tired of all that.
I'm not a freak, just a product of my upbringing; which happens to
be upper middle class, great family, just treated like "shit" most
of my life, and I have lost and my children have lost a normal
childhood. I want the buck to stop here. 42yrs old, want to write
a book to teach how not to do this to your children, need backing,
have talent. I dare you. Kerry
Dear Kerry,
I dare you - to read to the end of this email, to get off your pity
pot, stop acting 'the victim' and find a way to contribute some-
thing of value to the world.
I didn't happen to have an upper middle class upbringing. I grew up
in a working class family of 6 kids. My dad worked in a mill and he
put in many hours of overtime just to feed his family.
I put myself through university.
You imply I'm making big bucks from my website. You have no idea of
the long hours of work I put in offering value to others. I've done
an incredible amount of volunteer work over the years and I have
provided pro bono coaching a number of times.
Sorry, no pro bono for you.
Your attitude will not endear you to many. Go ahead and be angry
with me. Then look inward - you have incredible inner resources to
tap into!
You might also start by getting some books from the public library
and learn from the knowledge, experience and wisdom of many people.
I sugges Excuse Me Your Life is Waiting
by Lynn Grabhorn and any
books by Wayne Dyer.
To your new beginning... it’s up to you and I know you can do it!
I dare YOU! Bev
Dear Bev,
I'm impressed by your quick response. I don't get that kind of
attention from my own Counselors. YES you were absolutely correct;
I was on my pity pot. Sometimes it can and will creep back in (if I
let it, of course).
I have recently ordered W. Dyer's complete set. Yes I know I need it.
I happen to be a person whom attracts misfortune, but I am use it,
it has been there ALL my life, and now I would like to NOT BE the
victim. I have been diagnosed as a manic person, and my older sister
lives with my mother and is a living basket case. I always felt that
I did not get this horrible family curse (yes documented through my
entire family on my father's side). My father who died in 1970 was
bi-polar like my sister, who can’t even hold a job.
So here I was holding many jobs, lots of energy, okay the side
effect was I hadn't slept in years, but hey that was okay. But then
the lack of sleep started to affect my life, so the doctor's tried
many meds to help me, less then a year later i found myself in the
hospital not even knowing my name. Well I am now not on any meds at
all, I actually paid for the counseling I was receiving, and put
myself in Anger management courses that were only court ordered,
but the buck had to stop here.
This did not all happen without me losing... I lost my home to my
significant other, who has the kids, and I live elsewhere. I know
I'm here due to my own doing, but sometimes that pain and anger
from the past and present; present themselves and I took it out
on you.
I do apologize. I had no right to do so. I will take your dare now,
and I will put this learning experience to work. I don't even know
you, but I have told you more, and let you see more than most
people. However endearing (just joking) that may be. So please
accept my deepest apologies. Kerry

Rea Fraser writes: Did you know you have a subscriber in Spain!
Thanks for all the tidbits that help me stay on track. Living in a
new country, I rely on email contact for some Canadian support for
my projects and goals. I came to Spain two years ago to do a
pilgrimage, but I fell in love, got married and am still here.
These are the crazy gifts that life brings us. And I would LOVE some
game cards. I teach English here, so maybe I can use them with my
students.
So The Imp has jaunted to Spain. He has also been seen in Arizona,
thanks to Connie who also requested game cards.

4. Inspirational Message to Ponder"If I told patients to raise their blood
levels of immune
globulins or killer T-cells, no one would know how. But, if I can
teach them to love themselves and others fully, the same changes
happen automatically. The truth is Love Heals."
Dr. Bernie Seigel
The Imp encourages you to write the quote on a card, read it
regularly, and then journal about your thoughts, insights,
feelings and, especially, actions.
