1. Feature Article: Harry Potter Step Aside!

Harry Potter goes to Wizard’s School. Fabulous fiction.
What could be just as exciting but REAL is ‘Genius School’.

Genius School? Is The Imp kidding? Why?

One definition of 'wizard' is "a person exceptionally gifted or
clever at a specified activity." So rather than thinking only in
terms of a magician, sorcerer or conjurer, think in terms of the
magic you could create when you are fully expressing your talent and
passion.

Forget your I.Q. - it’s an outdated rather useless means of measuring
your potential.

Einstein was dyslexic. He trained himself to access his deep
subconscious mind. Delta brainwaves normally happen only during sleep.
He was able to access Delta while awake. When he practiced, his arms
would hang at his sides and he’d be holding a rock in each hand. If
the rocks dropped it meant he’d fallen asleep.

Genius School? Why?

Who would want to be a genius - aren’t they all weird?
"No", says The Imp, "they are exceptional rather than mediocre."

Genius School? Why?

Because in the Wonderful World of Imp What-ifs:

What if you could train your brain to think like a millionaire and
therefore become a millionaire?

What if you could mentally photograph the printed page and easily
master the content in your University text books?

What if you could learn to perform like a Tiger Woods or an Olympic
Gold medalist?

What if you possessed the knowledge, skills and the will to maintain
a disease free body and live to one hundred in excellent health?

What if you really could achieve your dreams?

All these ‘What-ifs’ have been accomplished by someone.

And are within your reach!

You have Incredible Mind Power! And for most people their
mind power is untrained and untapped.

What if you had the freedom to be a self-directed Learner choosing
what you wanted to learn and having teachers who taught you how to
learn extremely effectively? At any age. I'm in my sixties (a fact that
is totally irrelevant when I'm healthy and loving what I'm doing.)

Last month I wrote about losing my passion. I’ve reconnected with it!

I’m passionate about learning and human potential.

The reason for telling you (below) some of the things I've learned is
because I'm fairly bursting at the seams to share my knowledge and
skills with you!

As an enthusiastic lifelong Learner, through reading, courses, work-
shops and other kinds of training, I’ve explored:
NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP), Superlearning, Accelerated Learning
Techniques, Brain Gym, Phototreading, Structure of Intellect (SOI),
Learning Modalities and much more. (The Imp says, "Bev, throw in
Wilderness Survival - you did that too!")

I have a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology, Professional Teacher
Certification, plus training in Coaching, Group Leadership and
Communication Skills.

I am now in Week 4 of a 12-week program in Brain Wave training from
Dr. Jill Ammon-Wexler, a brainwave researcher for 35 years.

I’m passionate about helping you live an exceptional life - a life of
Inspiration, Magic and Passion!

A collage of "The Imp Creative Living Centre" has been hanging on my
office wall since I created it in 1999. Last summer it finally got
framed.

Part of my dream for the Centre is to have a "Life YOUniversity".
Do you like that name better than ‘Genius School’?

If you want to explore YOUniversity ideas with me,
Mailto:

2. Coaching Q&A: What Game Are You Playing?

Most Life Coaches will say the same thing: If you tell someone
you are a "Coach", their response is to ask "Which sport?"
Dave Buck, the head of Coachville (the largest online Coaching
Community) has been writing a series of articles (leading up to
the Coachville Conference) using the sports metaphor.

What is your game?
In a teleclass, Dave used this example: he is a keen soccer player
and plays all out to win. But when he is playing soccer with his two
young nieces, he is playing a different game. He still plays to win
but he is playing the game of "Uncle Dave". The girls win at soccer,
he wins at having a great relationship with them.

Why are you playing this game?
Can you identify the games in life you play?
Why are you playing them?
Answer these questions for yourself and gain some insight into your
motivation.

Are you playing to win?
Think about it. Are you playing to win or is fear keeping you 'safe'?
Are you playing to win or 'just for fun'? "Playing to win is more fun
than playing for fun" is one of the points made during the teleclass.
Why is that? When you play to win, you play full out. You give your-
self fully to the game. It creates emotion. You are feeling fully
alive!

No team wins every game. But its still about playing to win. Putting
your heart and soul into it.

But what happens when you lose?
If you've given it your best shot and learned from it, you can still
feel good.

It may have been your experience, though, that when you lost you were
alone with no one to talk to and work through it. It can be a bad
experience without a coach on your side.

Another aspect: have you ever designed a game that is impossible to
win? You may have set up a game in such a way that the only outcome is
failure. Failure because the environment, the structure, was not in
place to provide support.

Do you have a coach?
You would not expect any individual or team sport to be played
without a Coach. In keeping with the sports metaphor, a Coach helps
you clarify what the real game is, and help you design winnable games.

What is a winnable game?
It has tangible, specific outcomes. There are specific skills of
playing the game. There are strategies for winning. And you must
practice. A Coach helps you create a game plan using your unique
strengths.

Obviously a tennis coach is experienced at the game of tennis and
would not be coaching hockey or golf, if they've had little or no
experience at those games. A Personal Life Coach is in the same
situation.

In other words, I can coach games I have lived myself!

Games I've lived that come to mind at the moment include:

4.Inspirational Message to Ponder
The Imp encourages you to write the quote on a card, read it
regularly, and then journal about your thoughts, insights,
feelings and, especially, actions.

The person who is a master
in the art of living
makes little distinction between
their work and their play,
their labor and their leisure,
their mind and their body,
their education and their recreation,
their love and their religion.

They hardly know which is which.
They simply pursue their vision of
excellence and grace in whatever they do,
leaving others to decide whether
they are working or playing.

To them, they are always doing both.
-From the Zen Buddhist text (with thanks to Dave Buck.)
