1. Feature Article: Oops! What was I "supposed
to" be doing?
Have you ever neglected everything else you were "supposed to"
be doing while reading a book? I got so engrossed last Friday in
reading "The Secret of the Twelve", that I did just that.
In the August 2004 issue of "IMPressions", the feature article
was "Taking Evolution Personally". In February 2005's issue, I
"confessed" that "The Imp" is spiritual. Well, "The Secret of the
Twelve" by R.W. Kleine is a novel about spirituality and human
evolution. It's about "Exploring Extraordinary Human Capacities".
Now I chose those last four words and put them in quotation marks
because that was the title of Jean Houston's Mystery School that
I attended in 1993. (The place where the Imp was conceived!
The Imp popped into my mind and took up permanent residency.)
The point of exploring extraordinary capacities is that they can
be learned and at some point become ordinary. That is, available
to the many.
In "The Secret of the Twelve", the gist of the story is that we
can learn from more spiritually evolved individuals (The Imp's
kindred spirits!) and become more spiritually evolved ourselves.
That's not new information. But the story has its own twists and
turns that make it entertaining and inspiring. Its been called a
"handbook for changing the world" and is a story based on one
man's determination to bring the knowledge of our Oneness to all
people thereby ending war and the degradation of our planet.
Bringing this back to Jean Houston, the focus of her work is to
"develop leaders who know how to use their full potential to
overcome the current limitations and crises facing our world."
Are you feeling called to lead in a new way? Jean Houston's
Mystery School is offered every year. Who knows? Perhaps you will
find your Imp (spirit guide) there. Check out Jean's other
programs as well. She is also the author of numerous books.

Oops! What was I supposed to be doing on Friday? Writing about
"Cherishing Inner Moments of Peace". One way to spiritually
evolve.
Are you caught up in struggles, stress and overwhelm? One way to
break free of all that is to consciously spend a few minutes
several times a day to refocus on a peaceful memory. Let that
memory recreate feelings of ease, relaxation and peace.
One way to store up those good memories is with an "Inspirational
Memories Packet" - described in one of the themes in "The Imp"
Journal.
I've sewn up "Inspirational Memory Packets". The theme from the
book is printed and included. These have been available locally
when I've been at Trade Shows and Craft Markets. To obtain
yours for only $5 plus shipping and handling just email me and
I'll let you know the ordering details. They make a great gift.

2. Coaching Q&A: Where can I possibly start?
Christine writes: Hi Bev, I find myself recently divorced, 50
years old, in therapy for PTSD and unable to work at this time.
Though I am a registered social worker and teach better than I
listen, I find myself at a whole new period in my life. I have
no money, had to move into the basement of my parent's home after
always having my own, and have no idea how to start re-building
my inner self. Where can I possibly start?
Dear Christine,
It is significant that you identified your "inner" self for re-
building. When my life crashed down around me in 1993, my sister
Gwen said, "Bev, what you're experiencing is a spiritual crisis."
So, Christine, I see your innermost self going through a meta-
morphosis. Where can you possibly start? By turning inward. If
you have never meditated, a great place to start is by checking
out
http://www.meditation.org.au
Also, this is a very good time to take exceptionally good care of
yourself: exercising, eating wisely, staying in touch with
friends and allowing your feelings. Journaling is a wonderful way
to let your feelings tell you what you need to pay attention to.
You mentioned being in therapy for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
I often tell clients about the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT),
which effectively "neutralized" PTSD for Vietnam war veterans.

The simple "tapping" on acupressure points is easy to learn and
is described in their free downloadable ebook.
The "Starting Life Over" Program came out of my experience of
rebuilding my life. It is tailor-made for people in circumstances
like yours. It is common at such difficult times to have little
or no money. Being aware of that, I do have a Bursary program
online. Scroll down to where you can apply for the program at
an 85% discount.

4.Inspirational Message to Ponder
The Imp encourages you to write the quote on a card, read it
regularly, and then journal about your thoughts, insights,
feelings and, especially, actions.
"We occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of us pick
ourselves up and hurry on as if nothing happened."
R.W. Kleine
